Companies require pilots to use a type of telex system (called ACARS) to enter all sorts of data into the airlines operational database. This is handy to keep track of services provided and allows for a cross check of invoices and KPI measuring (e.g. delay, water/fuel uplift, cleaning…) There is a dedicated page for fueling. The procedure asks that when no fuel is uplifted crews need to enter 0 and send the report.
While this seems not a big deal it is just another task to perform. Can’t we automate this?
